Wicked Wednesday: Poken
A day for cool new stuff!
Are you Poken yet? If not, you should be!
When I first heard about Poken, I thought to myself, “What in the world?” and even though I didn’t truly understand what it was, I knew I wanted one. I know that’s crazy – I wasn’t even sure why I wanted it.
And then it happened..
A friend gave me a Poken and now I get it. I not only get it, I think this is one of the coolest concepts to hit the market in a while. Honestly, I think it’s going to catch adult minds across the country similar to how Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards hit the kid market.
What is Poken?
A Poken is a device that you carry with you that contains all of the information that you would have on your business card. In addition, the Poken also carries the data for all of your online social networks. Now, here’s the cool thing. Let’s say that you’re networking at a local event and you realize that you want to exchange information.
In the past, you would exchange cards, perhaps write the date on the card (so you remember when you met) and maybe the person’s Twitter handle.
Now, with Poken, if each of you has a Poken, you would simply press both of your Poken against each other (called a Hi-4…because Poken only have 4 fingers on their hands) and each of you would have exchanged your information with each other. When you get home, you simply insert the Poken into your computer’s USB port and upload the information from the day.
Oh yeah, that’s just WICKED cool!!
So wicked cool that I signed up as an affiliate to sell Pokens…so if you decide to check them out, I would appreciate it if you used my link to purchase them.
I have a Panda Poken…what Poken do you have?

I agree w/you — this is going to be the next hot thing and I’m lovin’ it. What a super idea!
I just ordered my Poken, it should be here tomorrow! I got the pink alien girl with the exposed brain. Can’t wait to play with it!
I had about the same response to Poken when I first saw it and now I wonder why every business person does not have one. I also want to say Steve at PokenZoo does a great job ( see affiliate link on this page). I set up a resource page for Poken and hope you will be a contributor in 2010! http://www.PokenRaleigh.com and on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/PokenRTP where I will post this blog post.
