Wicked App: Jing

Deidre’s Wicked Wednesday
Now, this is wicked cool!!
I have to give some thanks upfront for being made aware of this application from Sharon Wolfe of Novel T’s. She sent this to me thinking that it might be considered for Wicked Wednesday – and she was right!
If you’ve used shift-PRTSC to capture what you’re looking at on your screen to send to someone else, you know that it’s an archaic, multi-stepped process. AND, if you need to make any notations or changes to the captured image, you have to upload it into a graphic editing software to make the necessary changes (eliminate part of the capture, place text on the graphic, etc.)
Oh, ho, not any longer!!!
Jing is a web-based software that allows you to select what you want on the screen, add text, arrows, highlight, etc…all before you’ve needed to save anything! Wicked Cool!
Here’s an example of a screen capture that I did:

But, look at this!! Here’s an example of a voice notated screen capture:
Holy cow!! Is that WICKED COOL or what? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!

I’m trying it out, Thanks Deidre. The screencasting looks cool.
For screenshots you may also want to look at FireShot –

It’s available as a toolbar extension for FF & IE. The best part is you can choose to capture and edit the visible area or the ENTIRE page.
