blog-rss-pic2 Tip Tuesday

So, you’re going to write a book! Awesome!

How are you going to get them sold? Do you have a marketing plan? Or is your plan to post it up on your website, load it into Amazon and hope people will buy it?

Today, I want to give you 2 tips that you can walk away with and begin implementing today!

1. Blog About Your Book!

And this is only a starting point, but blog about your book. Let people know about your struggles, hardships, tough decisions, and victories as an author. Share some excerpts. Ask for feedback! The people reading your blog are your audience, so make sure you listen!!

Everytime you post a blog post, send a link out to one of your social media platforms. For example, you could shorten the URL and send out a Tweet on Twitter or a status update on Facebook. But make sure that people know about your blog post.

2. Get Bloggers to Review Your Book

I’m not talking about just any blogger. Do your homework on the potential bloggers!

  • Do they have a following of people?
  • Does this blog address my target market?
  • Does this blogger do book reviews?
  • Are there inbound links to the blog?
  • What’s the page ranking? (Use Alexa)

After you’ve determined that it’s a good fit, approach the blogger with respect! Bloggers do not have to review your book. But if they will review your book, know that they can and will sway the purchasing power of the people that are within their realm of influence.

Remember, for your cost of the book, you can potentially get reviews placed on the web in multiple locations (blogs) that have a high level of influence on buyers.

So get crackin’! And build a BUZZ about your book!
