So, you ever wondered who was linking to your site or mentioning your site in Twitter?
If so, you’re going to love this wicked app!!
Are you ready?
Just go to http://backtweets.com/ and enter your website or any of the shortened URL’s that you’ve posted in Twitter and you’ll get a listing of everyone that has posted any information about that URL. But, here’s the really cool part, you can also type in just a portion of your website and you’ll get a return!
Let me give you an example. Let’s see what happens if I type in “thebuzzbuilder”:
If you’ll notice, you can read the word combination “thebuzzbuilder” in only one of the posts. If I had done this same search in Twitter Search, that’s the only one of these posts that would have been returned to me! Why the discrepancy? Backtweets is reading where the URL’s are pointing to, not what they say.
Oh, ho – wicked cool!!!
Now, let’s give credit where credit is due. I’m not discrediting Twitter Search. There’s still tremendous value with this tool and allows you to search for “who in the Twitterverse” is talking about a particular word or phrase. However, if you want to know if other people are referring people to your website, then Backtweets is your destination!
