Ever wanted to make adjustments to an audio file and you just weren’t quite sure how to do it (without paying someone)? Thought about podcasting, but couldn’t afford the expense of audio editing software?
Well, if so, you’re going to LOVE Audacity!
I edit all of my audio using Audacity. Let me give you a simple demonstration of what’s possible…
Here’s a simple audio recording, that needs a little “cleaning up”:
Lovely clearing of my throat…should probably get rid of that! Back in Audacity, I can highlight the “clearing of my throat”, press delete and re-save.
Same recording, this time without the “clearing of my throat”:
Cool! But that’s not what makes it wicked cool! I can also grab a freeware music loop and add it to the recording.
Same recording, now with music:
I know! Neat! But still not what makes it truly wicked.

I know! I couldn’t believe it either, especially after I found out what some companies charge for audio editing software! Now, there is a caveat. Well, it’s actually a warning…
WARNING: The online user’s manual is sketchy at best. If you’ve never seen audio editing software, or if you stumble with new software, there can be an initial STEEP learning curve. However, if you are a quick learner, there are numerous user groups available to find answers that you need and did I mention…it’s FREE!
So, feel free to record, clean it up and get more business!
