Deidre’s Thoughts for Thursday

This has been an interesting and exhausting week. So much so, that this post is actually being typed on Saturday (even though it says “Deidre’s Thoughts for Thursday”). Oh well, what do you do? If you continue reading, you’ll begin to understand.

Disclaimer: For those of you that have been following my blog, I warned you that Thursdays may have NOTHING to do with social media – this is one of those times. Honestly, you may not care to read the blog postings that aren’t about social media, but for those of you that do, keep right on reading…

I have a family rule that keep me from neglecting my family and overspending my energy. This rule states that I will not be out more than 2 nights per week. One of those nights is already taken up by spending it with my “sanity friend” on Thursday nights. By the way, I think we ALL need a “sanity friend”. I’m sure I’ll write about that one of these Thursdays.

There are occasional exceptions to the rule and my family is extremely accommodating. However, in the time leading up to this week, I just wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing to my schedule and my week went, well, haywire.

WHAT WAS I THINKING?? Don’t get me wrong…I’m grateful for the speaking opportunities (one of my FAVORITE things to do!), but I should have been more prepared for the craziness.

Here’s a quick overview of the above -

Monday night was mostly uneventful…just final preparations.

Tuesday night was interesting. My son was 10 feet in front of us the entire night, rolling his eyes at our apparent complete lack of understanding his life and the fact that I am decidedly one of the most embarrassing people in the entire world. I am sooo looking forward to this next chapter in his career in school. Yeah.

Wednesday night was fantastic! What a great group of people to talk to!

Thursday - ahhh. A moment to bring some sanity back into my life.

Friday‘s presentation was wonderful! What an enthusiastic crowd!

Saturday - well, here we are. I’m catching up and getting ready for tomorrow presentation. After tomorrow, I will be crashing…just in time for my birthday on Monday.

Actually, funny thing is…just writing this and knowing that some of my friends and fans will be reading this makes me feel refreshed. Thank you to those of you that read this far! I promise to be back on track next week!!
