Wicked Offer: FR.E.E Profile Makeovers
04.01.09
Wicked Wednesday
If you get my newsletter, you’ve been expecting this.
If you don’t get my newsletter, what are you waiting for?
Back to the matter at hand…
First impressions: can your social media profile pass the 5 second test…what about the 10 second test?
In this day and age, we are inundated with information. When someone gets to your profile on a social media site, they make snap judgments about whether or not you’re someone that they should spend any of their time getting to know. They’re making a snap judgment about your credibility.
Are you attracting your prospects or are you turning them off before they get past the first line of your profile description? I’ve been teaching people how to create dynamic profiles as a part of my BUZZ Builder Advantage Series. But, I’m so confident that improving your profile is one of the most important steps in developing your social media strategy and building inbound marketing campaigns, I’ve decided to offer this service as an ala carte item beginning next week.
In the meantime, if you are among the brave and like the idea of my newsletter subscribers and everyone else that I’m connected to potentially coming to view your profile both before and after your makeover…you are in luck!! I am now accepting submissions for FREE profile makeovers as an introduction to this new service.
(To reiterate, all FREE profile makeover recipients are giving their consent
to have screen shots of their profile published on my blog on a Makeover Monday.
What a great opportunity for more visibility!!
Here are a couple of examples: Barb Tuson and Maria Mauriello.)
How do you get your FREE profile makeover? I’m so glad you asked!
2 Steps to a FREE Profile Makeover
1. Share this post with your friends. Easy Peasy – use the share button at the bottom of this post to share it on your favorite site(s)!
2. Submit your request for a makeover in the comments section below. I need the URL for the profile that you would like to have “made-over” and why you deserve a free makeover!
This is a great opportunity for you to get some exposure and to have a profile that attracts your perfect client!!
(If you are interested in getting your profile “made-over”, but would prefer privacy, I will have a page available with a description of the purchasable service next week.)
UPDATE: 4/12/09 – Profile Makeovers are now available for purchase!
Have a great day, and don’t forget…
Build a BUZZ about your business!!

Deidre, is this offer open to people who know better, but just haven’t done better? (You know, people like me who spend so much time saving the world that I now have 11 loads of laundry to do)
)
This offer is open to anyone, Olalah.
BTW – I completely understand the 11 loads of laundry to do…mmm.
Hi There!
I did not know you did all this!! You know how fabulous I think you are!! I would love a free profile makeover!! Just don’t know which one?? I am on facebook, twitter, and most of the other ones…just no time to work on them!! Let me know your thoughts!
HEY! Okay – so I shared the site and the opportunity! You are right – easy peasy! Now the not so easy part… doing the actual profile!
Hi Deidre,
I’m a professional speaker and really new to social media networking, in fact I have stood on the sidelines and boasted about being too busy to get into “stuff like that”. Actually I’ve been more fearful of the unknown more than anything else – that’s why I haven’t ventured into the deep.
I finally ‘got it’ after posting a desperate question to a group on LinkedIn several weeks ago. I was amazed at the genuine and lightning-fast responses I received, and I met several very cool and giving people from this exhange. It’s about community and it’s making sense to me now. Given this new enlightenment, I know I don’t have the right profile to be impactful. I want to be effective in the social media world, just not sure how to do it. I’d love to be one of your make-overs if you’ll have me.
Looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you.
Best regards,
Charlotte
Charlotte – I would love to work with you! I’ll find you on LinkedIn and send you a message. I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi, Deidre:
I so enjoyed your presentation to the ICA meeting last night. You’re a wealth of information on this topic and you’ve whetted my appetite to learn more about social media. I’d like to start by taking you up on your free profile makeover offer for my linkedin profile: http://www.linkedin.com/in/mariajmauriello.
I’m a writer, editor and public relations consultant and am still learning how to maximize tools like linkedin, Facebook, etc. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Maria
Hi Jackie! Just want to be sure that you want the free profile makeover on your LinkedIn profile. I’ll send you an email to confirm.
Maria!
Thank you for the encouragement! I certainly had a great time last night and I’m glad it helped you to move closer to utilizing social media more extensively. I will put you in the queue!
Warm regards,
Deidre
Hi Deidre! I’m game for a free profile makeover if you can help! My LinkedIn profile http://www.linkedin.com/in/pamwickert is aka resume…I am a displaced worker and could really use all the suggestions that come my way! I have completed the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment and also have just registered for online training specially designed to help update skills and improve employability for this economic season of life. I need a new strategy! Respectfully, Pam
Yo, great name for site!
Hi Deidre! I’m up for a LinkedIn profile makeover.
Here’s my LinkedIn profile http://www.linkedin.com/in/mschurtman.
I’m a big advocate of LinkedIn, and would like to ensure that my profile “walk-the-walk” as I “talk-the-talk” of social networking, social media and web marketing.
I plan on completing the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment and registering for online training specially designed.
BTW – My wife, Maria Mauriello spoke highly of you and your recent presentation.
Best regards, Mark
Mark,
Thank you for the compliment! I will put you in the queue and notify you when your profile review has taken place! Have a wonderful week!
Deidre
Thanks, Pam!! You’re in the queue and I will notify you as soon as your makeover has been completed!

Help! I am an interior designer and have put off website development (I am actually embarrassed for you to see it) and completing my linkedin profile. My website is nothing more than a splash page and does not contain anything represenative of my work – I seem to direct people to my projects like the Durham Performing Arts Center so they can expereince it. My site needs my portfolio, if even 4 projects and very simple. I understand that you can post your portfolio on linkedin and it has been on my “to-do” list now for months. Any help, even in the form of motivation, would be appreciated tremendously. I love makeovers!
Wow! I am requesting a profile makeover 2.0 style. I posted you on my facebook account.
Why do I need a profile makeover… Hmmm.. because I am unemployed and would like to better use the 2.0 space. If I am successful with this profile make over then maybe we could look at attracting some interest in my blog… found at 4marketingroi.worldpress.com. The biggest reason I need a makeover is because my strengths are vision, strategy and execution not writing. I know that good copy writing is a skill that is all to often under appreciated.
So I could always use help in the writing arena.
Thanks look forward to your insight.
Deidre, when you look at my profile on Linkedin, you will easily know why I desperately need your help. I have tried and tried to upload a picture of me and have failed every time. Since you made me aware of the importance of having a professional profile with a photo, I know I need professional help. Pleaaaase help!!!
Yvonne
I’m ready for a make-over or to have my strategy tightened up. I’ve start a blog, a face book page, twitter, and linkedin. PS Where is the share button?
Marina
Hi Marina!
The Share button was missing at the time that you posted your comment (I was working on the website over the weekend) – it’s back now!! Thanks.
I have three web sites, a blog, and a profile on Facebook and LinkedIn. This is my LinkedIn Profile. None generate much interest in my freelance writing business or my book. I revised my resume on my business web site, but I need to connect my book site, photo site, and business site together better than with just hyperlinks. I’m not a techie so everything I’ve done has been very simple. I need help in positioning myself since I’m all over the place/
Hi, good post. I have been wondering about this issue, so thanks for posting.
I congratulate, your idea simply excellent
