Wicked App: Delicious

Wicked Wednesday
If you’re not using this web-based social media service, you should start! Delicious has been around for over 5 years and is an online manager for your bookmarks. What makes it “social”? By default, your bookmarks are available to the public (though you can choose to make any of your bookmarks private). In addition, you can associate a keyword or “tag” with the URL in order to group your bookmarks.
Why is this such a wicked cool service?
No matter what computer you’re on, you can access your bookmarks. (This is even more exciting if you’ve ever had a motherboard fry or a hard drive fail.) You can also find out what others have tagged with the same keyword by using the following format: delicious.com/tag/keyword
For example, if you wanted to see which url’s have been tagged in delicious with the keyword “marketing”, type the url http://delicious.com/tag/marketing into your browser and you will get a list of over 1.2 million url’s that people have tagged with the word “marketing”.
It gets better!
You can get become a fan of someone else’s bookmarks and view them at your leisure as well as the capability of others becoming fans of yours. It’s similar to getting a reference…but now you have a reference to a website!
If you would like to take a look at the types of sites that I’ve bookmarked, check out my delicious page at http://delicious.com/deidrehughey
Wicked Cool!
Let me know if you use this service or if you plan to…I would love to hear your opinions!

I knew I added that to my Firefox toolbar for a reason, never actually got into using it though. Guess I’ll have to give it a second look and try it out.
