I’m telling you, I am connected to some of the most amazing people in the world!

I am pleased to introduce Olalah Njenga to you. For those of you that are not familiar with her or how to pronounce her name, I’m going to let her describe it for you:

What does your name mean?

It’s simple, my name means my parents had way too much time on their hands. That’s it! No cosmic connection. No mysterious translation. Just the smoke from the sixties that was obviously way too thick.

What about your last name?

Oh yes, let’s not forget about that. The “N” is silent, so it sounds like that game kids play with the wooden blocks — jenga. Why not just drop the “N” you ask? I think my husband George (the guy who gave me this complicated name) might be a tad miffed if I just up and decided to change his birthright. He’s from Kenya. Kenyans are little “touchy” about their family names.

I’ve been called “ninga”, nnnn jenga (like the person is stuttering) and course my favorite “nn what?”. I’ve heard it all. It takes a lot to offend me.

LOL! She cracks me up!

Now, let me explain how we got connected. Olalah and I had been on each other’s radar for over 3 years, when we finally had the chance to meet. Honestly, I can’t quite explain the connection. Have you ever met someone and then a couple of weeks later it felt like you had known them your whole life? That’s how it was for Olalah and I.
