Christmas was an eventful day in the Hughey household…

It started out on an even keel.  The kids woke up, my husband and I made breakfast, we opened presents and then it happened.  My older son says, “Mom!  There’s a big present back here for you!”

Now I can’t imagine what’s inside, but he’s right – it’s a big box.

My husband looks slyly over and states that there’s an envelope on top that I have to read before opening the box.  I think, “No problem.”  As I’m opening the envelope, he tells me that there’s 2 pieces of paper and I’m not to look at the second sheet until I have finished reading the first.  Again, I think, “No problem.”

Okay, big problem.

You see, the first sheet of paper is a note from a pair of my shoes.  Yes, my shoes!  Each of whom have evidently lost hope that they could continue on in a manner befitting their purpose and have committed suicide.  There were two paragraphs describing their grief, explanation of their actions and potential, subsequent police investigation!  This had to be the funniest present I’ve ever received in my life!

If you haven’t guessed already, the second page of the letter was a pictorial of the scene that the “police” investigated…shoes with holes in them from where they shot themselves with the BB Gun!  LOL!!

After I finished laughing and crying from laughing…I did receive a new pair of shoes to replace the recently deceased!

Absolutely, AWESOME!
