You’re in business and you have a blog.  Do you know if it’s helping your website?

Here are 2 tips to help make your blog more SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly:

1. Have an overriding theme for your posts.

If you are a travel agent, then the general theme of your blog should be about traveling!  Bring some of your own personal flair and stories into the posts, but make sure that they are still about travel.  This is important for a few reasons:

• it emphasizes to a search engine that your website is not only about travel, but it has dynamic content about travel,
• it allows you to link your posts to other like-minded posts with relative ease,
• it also makes it easier to link your blog content to static content within your website.

2. Maintain a regular blogging schedule.

Blogging is as effective as your last post!  Really.  If your last post was a week ago and then 3 weeks before that, not only are you not consistent, you are not capitalizing on what makes blogging so effective for your business.  At a minimum, you should post weekly and in order to truly take advantage of and create a blogging SEO machine, make entries into your blog every day.  Aside from the SEO advantages, you will also have an easier time building a following of people that look to you as a resource.

If you’re blogging, take a look at your theme and your posting consistency.  Making some minor adjustments in these two areas can have drastic results for your business!
